I'm just now coming across this post. I tried using SKiDL yesterday and diving into what's out there for programmatic generation. Full disclosure I am very new to hardware design. I'm a software guy. Are you using Atopile for the layout as well or just hooking it up? Also, what would be the downside to using Kicad 5?
